Regular check
Even if you feel healthy, regular monitoring (blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol) is important for early diagnosis and treatment.
Your mental health is equally important and seeking help for mental health issues including depression and anxiety can be critical.
Reduce alcohol consumption
Excessive consumption increases the risk of liver damage, cancer and cardiovascular disease. It can also affect your mental health and have a negative impact on your family and people around you.
Stopping smoking
Tobacco use causes cancer, lung disease, cardiovascular disease and strokes.
It also causes impotence. Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health. In 12 weeks your respiratory function increases and within 1 year your risk of cardiovascular disease is half that of a smoker.
Eat better
A healthy diet helps prevent various diseases.
Be more active
Physical exercise of at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity per week.
Physical activity helps you maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, cancer and beat depression.
